The neck is playable as is, but I would still recommend work be done to correct the problem. There were no issues with the other frets, and overall they are in very good condition with lots of life. I set the guitar up a few different ways, but some mixture of buzzing and deadness was always present on the first 3 frets, but very rarely on the low E and A. Before disassembling, I had the guitar setup with extremely low action (1mm at the 12th), and there was a mixture of buzzing and deadness on the first two frets through the D to High E. It appears that the wrong fret size and profile was used, and as a result there are some playability issues. Unfortunately, the first 3 frets have been refreted, and the work is not very professional. Some swirling and scratches on the face of the headstock. ( I stopped caring about this issue with bolt on neck guitars ) comes with grey Charvel hard case.

Guitar is in nice looking condition with some signs of use. There is also a small area where the finish has been worn near the 3rd fret, but it can't be felt and is only visible from a certain angle with significant light.
